THE CHALLENGE
How does one of the world’s leading interactive entertainment companies successfully engage, delight and inspire its employees at an annual event and keep it fresh and exciting for both new and repeat attendees?
THE BIG IDEA

In our third year as production partner for KingfoMarket, King’s showcase employee engagement event in Barcelona, WLLX delivered a fresher-than-fresh full brand venue takeover, dynamic business content, a range of evening and networking activities, and a fully themed closing party for 2,000 attendees.

THE NUTS AND BOLTS

Fully-branded event design

Creative environmental design and content production delivery were paramount in making the event feel fresh and exciting. WLLX brought the playful personality of the King brand to life within the exhibition venue, plenary and social environments, using sweeping shapes, playful signage, stand design, a multi-sensory stage set, screen content, event dressing and wayfinding as well as digital branding.

A winning format

The stage plenary kicked off like no other, with a bespoke Guitar Hero inspired mass participation experience for all 2,000 employees that united the entire organisation from the start. Over the two days, WLLX organised and managed over 100 breakout sessions and further plenaries, providing:

  • Content planning support
  • Creative content and scriptwriting
  • Speaker facilitation
  • AV and technical management
  • Session logistics, room briefing and management support

Expo inspo

In addition to delivering the extensive conference programme, we designed and executed an inspiring showcase of King’s live game titles in a range of exhibition stands, all styled to their own brand.

So far, so social

Evening activities included a roller disco with a live DJ set and flash mob performers, a dodgeball tournament, massage room, banquet meal, and ping pong.

Best-ever closing party

To close the event, WLLX produced a fully themed ‘Magic, Myths & Legends’ party, featuring five different realms with incredible props, lighting and surprise experiences. With mainstage talent including Basement Jaxx and Goldierocks, the night also featured an opening ceremony performance, troupes of roaming performers, a karaoke room, fortune tellers and a medieval banquet.

THE UPSHOT

With endless creative ideas and no-fuss technical execution, WLLX proved that annual employee engagement events can take on a new and exciting lease of life, every time. WLLX were nominated for ten leading event and campaign industry awards for the delivery of the 2019 event and won three, including In-House Event of the Year and Conference and Exhibition of the Year.
